A new law in Colorado capping the price of insulin for insured patients at $100 per month has generated interest in other states because the price of the life-saving diabetes drug has spiked, lawmakers said. : Health

Just from googling, some estimates put insulins cost of production at about $2-$6 a bottle. Diabetic people can use between one and six per month. So it could cost about $24-$432 per year. One estimate was about $78-$130 per year accounting for manufacturing, the vials, transport, and some othet operating expenses. Basically insulin seems to be supremely overpriced because it is a necessary good without which the customer will die.
